Ginebra advances again in the PBA Commissioners Cup final after defeating Rain or Shine 96-94 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on July 23, 2018. Last time Ginebra in the Commissioners Cup finals was the 2012-2013 seasons in which Alaska Aces won the Crown.
Ginebra had a good start in the opening period and continue to have a good rhythm in the second period and hold 40-26 advantage, but Rain or Shine still managed to cut the lead 47-40 at the half.
Being down again 73-67 in the third quarter, Rain or Shine find a rhythm in the final period, they tie the score at 79-79 after a Raymond Almazan trey and started to exchange basket after a basket made, Rain or Shine got their first lead (90-88) after Gabe Norwood jumper, but answered directly with a triple by Tenorio then a followed by bad pass of Belga that lead to a transition lay-up by Joe Devance plus and went 7-0 run after Tenorio’s basket (95-90) with 40 seconds left in the game.

Greg Slaughter and Joe Devance led Barangay Ginebra with 19 points each, Justine Brownlee finished the game below his average with 12 only points including 17 rebounds and 8 assist.
Reggie Johson led Rain or Shine with 22 points and 16 rebounds, with no other starters in double figure production but had 56 points bench production.
