Cebu, Philippines its so sad to hear that all NBA Stores in the Philippines will be shut down by the end of August 2018. Today August 15, 2018 will also the last day of Sale in NBA Store Ayala Center Cebu.
NBA Store here in Ayala Center Cebu already shut down their outlet Today “August 15, 2018” as stated on their Facebook page. We can still remember that NBA Store at Ayala Center Cebu opened last November 24, 2016 with NBA Hall of Fame player Gary Payton appeared at the launch, so it’s just 1 year and 8 months operating in Cebu.
Mostly Filipinos also love to shop in the NBA Store to buy Jersey, Shoes, Socks, Cap and Ball. As a local Cebuano I deeply sad hearing this News that they will shut down their outlet here in Cebu. We cannot blame that they want to shut down all their branches here in the Philippines, they are employing many people in their respective outlet, but the demand of their items is so low because it’s too expensive to buy some items.
Some Filipinos tend to buy the fake jersey rather than the original one from NBA Stores because of the price difference. Like, Jersey cost 3,595 pesos in NBA Store but in the local market, some people can buy it for only 250 pesos, but the Durability of the items from the NBA Store takes more time compared to the fake one.
Last time I visited their outlet was yesterday August 14, 2018 there was no crowd unlike in the opening of the outlet, they had a big banner with a big word 70% sale off but that was only for Poster and Baller. They also offer 50% sale off for Sticker.
As stated in their Facebook page Trinoma branch will also shut down this coming August 30, 2018 while the first NBA Store in the Philippines the Glorietta Branch already close last July 2018.
