Manila, Philippines – October 09, 2016, Game 2 of the Governor’s cup finals between Barangay Ginebra and Meralco Bolts.
After the hurtful loss in game 1 Barangay Ginebra bounced back to tie the series (1-1).
Before the game begins, Allen Durham and Jayson Castro awarded as the Best Import and the Best Player of the Conference respectively.

Brownlee loaded back and carried his team with 32 points and 12 rebounds after struggling in game 1 with (17points).
The game opened up by a slow start of both teams, Barangay Ginebra who lead by 3 in the opening period 24-21. But the second quarter was a tighten defense who had their 4 deadlock from (24-24) (26-26) (28-28) (30-30). But Meralco escaped and lead by 1 (44-43) going into the break. Alapag who set a record of 3 point made basket in second quarter.
Barangay Ginebra leads as much as 15points in the third period (48-63), but Meralco Bolts cut it to just 9 points, ended with (69-60) going into the final quarter.
Meralco Bolts gas up in the final period when they continue their outside shooting blasted a(16-6) run and regain the lead (76-75) in the final period. Sol Mercado, who saved the Barangay when he got his offensive rebound on Brownlee’s missed and converted a basket to cap a (81-79) lead in dying minute. Durham tried to attempt a long jumper with a 2 defender, but failed to convert that forced them to foul Tenorio in the next position. Tenorio, who split his free throws leading (82-79). Meralco Bolts had the chance to tie the game with 13.4 seconds when Durham and Cliff Hodge missed the open 3 point attempt.
Sol Mercado finished with 12 points and 4 assists along with his 6 boards. Allen Durham who had 46points in game 1 limited only on game 2 with 22points.
