MANILA, Philippines – Barangay Ginebra’s rocket start resulted in a blowout win (130-100) against the San Miguel Beermen (2-2) in the PBA 2018 Commissioner’s Cup Final series at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on August 03, 2018, Friday.

Who ever start strong this series is just a basis for this series, past games is decided by a blowout win. Tonight Barangay Ginebra had a strong 17-0 start ignited by LA Tenorio’s 8 points himself in the opening 4 minutes resulted in 39-21 ahead in the first quarter.
Justin Brownlee’s nearly had a triple double plus receiving his Best Import of the Conference, he finished 37 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists, including 3 blocks and 2 steals in 15 of 18 in the field.
Because of the huge help of other Ginebra’s starter Beermen could not cut the lead into a single digit, San Miguel once cut it to a 67-54 in the third quarter, but LA Tenorio and Justin Brownlee triple plus a transition lay-up for Scottie Thompson made the Ginebra untouchable stretching the lead to 97-75 at the end of the third quarter.
Barangay Ginebra outscored San Miguel Beermen 63-48 in the second half.
Gregg Slaughter had a good night throughout the series after averaging 11.67points in the first 3 games, he finished with 19 points, 8 rebounds and 1 assists in 8 of 11 in the field. After being held by a single digit production in game 3 Joe Devance and LA Tenorio also had a huge help with 18 points and 17 points respectively. Scottie Thompson also finished with 7 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists.
June Mar Fajardo who also received his Best Player of the Conference only finished below his average with 15 points and 14 rebounds, Reynaldo Balkman also added 14 points including 11 rebounds and 3 assists. With their 35 points combined in Game 3 victory Chriss Ross and Marcio Lassiter only combined with 6 points, Marcio Lassiter went 2-11 in the field with 4 points while Chriss Ross went 1-4 in the field.
Arwind Santos and Christian Standhardinger combined with 37 points off the bench for the Beermen Santos had a hot hand with 22 points including 6 of 9 in three-point line.
Now its a best of 3 series between San Miguel Beermen and Ginebra, game 5 of the series will be on Sunday at 6:30pm
