With their early exit in the Playoffs of 2015-2016 season, losing to Oklahoma City Thunder. San Antonio Spurs open the season with a blowout victory with 29 pts (129-100) against the depending Western Conference Champion (Warriors).
Spurs, who lead early by 6 pts (8-2) in the opening period, Curry answered with 5pts including two free throws and a triple on the next position to cap a (5-2) run with 8:06 minutes to play (10-7). Kevin Durant went 7-2 run to their first lead of the game (14-12). The game was tied after a consecutive basket by Jonathon Simmons (SA) and a pair of free throws of Stephen Curry (16-16). Spurs route an 15-4 run, including the triples of Patty Mills and Jonathon Simmons to end the first period (31-20).

San Antonio Spurs never look back the home team as they continue their dominant offense. With more than 2 minutes to play in the second quarter, Golden State Warriors cut the deficit to a single digit (52-44) but the San Antonio Spurs took 12-2 run to end the period leading by 18points (64-46) to end the period.
Stephen Curry and teammates don’t have any major run in the third period as Spurs lead balloon to 20pts in the third quarter (97-77).
Spurs continue their lead in the final period, as Patty Mills open with a triple (100-77) but Golden State Warriors had no answer as the lead never back again under 20pts. Spurs extend the lead with 28pts (110-82) with 9:31 minutes to play.
Jonathon Simmons put an exclamation point as he posterized (JaVale McGee) to end the game with a dunk.
Kawhi Leonard leads the Spurs with 35pts and along with his 100% in the free throw line (15-15). Lamarcus Aldridge added a double-double with 26pts and 14 rebounds. Jonathon Simmons, who had an impressive game added 20pts including the buzzer beater 3pointer in dying seconds of second period and the dunk to end the fourth period.
Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry lead the Warriors with a combined 53pts.
Coincidentally opening night of Cavaliers had 29pts deficit win against Knicks (117-88).
Unlike last year Golden State Warriors took 76 games before they got a loss in their home. With (68-7) record, the Warriors faced a young, talented Celtics to a close game loss (109-106). But started the 2016-2017 season Spurs devastated the Warriors with 29pts (129-100) in their first home loss of the season.
