Barangay Ginebra finishes off San Miguel Beermen in game 6 of their best of 7 Finals series and capture their second Commissioner’s Cup title in 21 long years.
San Miguel Beermen unable toforce a game 7 in the PBA 2018 Commissioner’s Cup against Barangay Ginebra for 3 reasons, their key star did not explode, Bench unable to have good output, finally Christian Standhardinger could not contribute.
1. San Miguel Trio’s off night
San Miguel is heavily relying this 3 guys since the opening of the Commissioner’s Cup season, but they are unable to contribute in the most important do or die game. The Trio combined 3 of 32 in the field composed by (Lassiter, Ross, Cabagnot). These Trio averages 30.4 points per game in each occasion in the Final series, but in game 6 they only had 6 points production in total, Chriss Ross and Marcio Lassiter combined 0 of 17 in the field while Alex Cabagnot is 3 of 15 in the field.
2. San Miguel Bench unable to contribute more
San Miguel Beermen bench average 34.4 points per game throughout the series, but tonight they only had 18 points led by Brian Heruela 11 points.
3. Christian Standhardinger effect
Christian Standhardinger had a solid output in the Finals averaging 15.2 points per game, in their game 1 loss he scored 26 points, but his output in Game 6 totally out of nowhere with a limited 13 minutes, he is 0 of 3 in the field. Standhardinger finished the game with 2 rebounds and 1 assists.
