MANILA, Philippines – Barangay Ginebra finally earned their first win against San Miguel trimming the series to 2-1 in favor of the Beermen with a final score (95-87) for 2018 PBA Philippine Cup semi-final at the Mall of Asia Arena on March 13, 2018.
Japeth Aguilar led Barangay Ginebra with a double-double performance and finished 25points and 12 rebounds including 3 assists.
Game 3 was all about Ginebra who always leads since the opening minute of the game, San Miguel Beermen only take a lead after Alex Cabagnot jump shot (2-0) since then Ginebra never look back the Beermen.

After leading by 6 points in the first half Ginebra extend their lead to 14points to end the third quarter thanks for Japeth Aguilar, who explodes for 13 points in the period helping the Barangay (65-79).
If you’re against the defending 3 time PBA Philippine Cup champion no secure lead for Ginebra as the Beermen ignited with 15-4 run to cut the deficit within (83-80) half-way mark in the final period but Kings anchored (10-1) to make the separation (90-81).
Junemar Fajardo led San Miguel to a consecutive double-double performance in the series with 23points 9 of them coming in the fourth quarter and 16 rebounds.
L.A Tenorio finished with 18points and 5 rebounds. Prince Caperal and Jervy Cruz also added with 12 apiece to help Barangay Ginebra.
Marcio Lassiter who explodes for 25points and the winning put-back in game 2 only finished with 14points. Alex Cabagnot and Arwind Santos also added 13 apiece for the Beermen.
Game 4 is on March 15, 2018 at the Mall of Asia Arena.
