Cebu, Philippines – Recently I heard a news about this said company Mopro, they started opening with a few employees in the year 2016 at Cebu IT Park.
The company wants to extend their branch in Cebu and open a massive hiring in the year 2017, in the month of April almost 500 employees are employed for 2 offices in Insular, Ayala Center Cebu and Cebu IT Park (Azpired Building).

Imagine that massive growth for the company from less than 10 employees and after 4 months it grows rapidly to 500 employees.
Does the management of Cebu mishandled the company?
According to the management in the month of June 2017, they will be trimming employee because of redundancy and it happened more or less 40 employees that are currently in their training period are laid off but given a paycheck of more or less 50,000 pesos.
After that, another 21 employee is laid off, but the 21 employees are not satisfied with the Company’s decision. The 21 employees seeking for help in Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE). Their aim is why the company easily end their contract, despite they don’t violate company policies and their stand that Mopro’s action was illegal and no due process.
According to my friend half of the 21 employee settled out already in the hearing process at the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) with an amount of less than 12,000 pesos.
Remaining employee wants to pursue a case in the next level to National Labor Relations Commission “NLRC”, but after 3 weeks of argument with the Human Resources of Mopro, Human Resources representative settled each employee from 20,000 pesos above. Some of the employees were easily convinced by the HR representative and given a paycheck easily after signing agreement.
Last employee who settled out was given more or less than 80,000 pesos paycheck according to my sources.
