NAGA, CEBU Philippines — The Department of Environment and Natural Resources Secretary “Roy Cimatu” has relieved Mines and Geosciences Bureau top leaders in Region 7 after the landslide in Barangay Tinaan and Barangay Naalad Naga City, Cebu that killed 29 people in counting as of this writing as search and rescue operation in ongoing.

Among the top leader that relieve from the Mines and Geosciences Bureau are Director Loreto Alburo, Chief Geologist Al Emil Berador, Supervising Geologist Dennis Aleta, and legal officer Gerardo Mahusay.
Less than a month ago, Atty. Gerardo Mahusay signed a letter on August 29, 2018together with his team that there is no imminent danger of the said crack as people reported to local authorities.
Roy Cimatu also said that Mines and Geosciences Bureau from Manila will take over the said officers from Cebu.
Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC) of APO Land and Quarry Corporation also under suspension, Cimatu also issued a cease and desist order for “ALQC” on its operations. He also issued a suspension order for 15 days in Quarry Operations from Regions 1, 3, 4A, 5, 7, 10, 11, and 13.
