MANILA, Philippines – Magnolia Hotshots steal game 1 of their best of seven series against San Miguel (105-103) after being down by 20points in the 2018 PBA Philippine Cup Finals at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on March 23, 2018 (Friday).

Magnolia Hotshots find a way in the end game to steal a come-from-behind thanks Ian Sangalang who finished with 29points and 9 rebounds.
Aldrech Ramos finished with 15points, Mark Barroca also added 14points to go along with 6 rebounds and 5 assists to help Magnolia.
Magnolia had a difficult way to steal a win tonight, Magnolia trailed as much as 20points in the 8 minute frame of the third quarter (72-52). Magnolia turns the tempo in the final quarter as they open 13-0 run to trim the lead to 89-88 and draws their 5th deadlock at 97-97 in the three-minute frame.
Magnolia continues the rhythm and regain the lead after a Barroca’s jump shot to make it (101-100) then followed by Sangalang jump shot to make it (103-100) but Marcio Lassiter answered with a trey to tie the game with (103-103) then Ian Sangalang draws a foul to Fajardo that rewarded him with 2 important free throws.
As Casting Data wrote a preview in this series Magnolia’s win is relying on their bench that almost doubled the production of San Miguel in the semis.

San Miguel had no help on their bench, San Miguel Bench has not even made a single basket only Chris Ross scored by 1 point in the free throw line.
San Miguel had a chance to tie or even win with a trey after Jio Jalalon missed his 2 free throws, but Raffy Reavis block Santos attempt to seal a victory.
Fajardo led San Miguel with 31 points and 18 rebounds, but had 11 turnovers. Alex Cabagnot nearly had a triple-double with 27points to go along with 9 rebounds and 9 assist. Marcio Lassiter and Arwind Santos also added 21 points and 19 points respectively.
