San Miguel vs Barangay Ginebra
This semi final match up will boost many people to go inside the Arena, which the 4 teams will play in their semi-final. The heavy crowded Barangay Ginebra King will face San Miguel today September 26, 2016 in their Game 1 of the best of 5 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum at 7:00pm. In their previous matchup in 2016 Governor’s Cup season San Miguel Beer took 2 over time to past Barangay Ginebra and to clinch 2nd spot on the standing.
Tim Cone said on an interview last Friday about what he think about San Miguel…
“No offense to Talk ‘N Text (TNT KaTropa, the No. 1 seed), but San Miguel is the team to beat,”. He said that after his team eliminate the Alaska Aces to prevent knock out games. This is the first semifinal appearance of Barangay Ginebra for 2 years after they finished third in the 2013-14 Philippine Cup while this is the 4th appearance of San Miguel in semi’s. One problem of Ginebra, Slaughter is on the bench with injuries, while opponent big man June Mar Fajardo is very aggressive on the other hand. Junemar Fajardo will freely move in the post because big man of Kings still on injury. Could their import Justin Brownlee will stop the Cebuano big man or the replacement import San Miguel Elijah Millsap will still dominate in the game.
TNT vs Meralco Bolts
Top seeded team (TNT) will start their game 1 tomorrow, September 27, 2016 over Meralco Bolts. TNT is the Final favorite of the 2016 Governor’s Cup however Meralco Bolts will challenge this and try to establish a position on this series. TNT sealed a victory over the Phoenix in the quarter final with the brilliant effort of the two time best point guard in Asia “THE BLUR” Jason Castro with 42 points last Saturday September 24, 2016. On the other hand Meralco secure a semi-final match after beating Mahindra in the quarter finals.
