Bangkok, Thailand – October 13, 2016 – Longest-Reigning Monarch in the world died peacefully in hospital.
King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand, longest-reigning monarch died at 88. Bhumibol died peacefully on Thursday at 3:52 p.m. at Bangkok’s Siriraj Hospital, in a statement of the royal palace.
King Bhumibol reigned lasted for seven decades and captivated the nation. His loss will be deeply mourned in the nation of Thailand. The palace did not give a reason for his death but he has been sick in hospital with various ailments for much of the past year.

More than 1,000 people gathered at the hospital where the king had been staying. Many of them started to cry as the news of his death broke.
King Bhumibol Adulyadej who once listed in Forbes magazine(2010) as the world’s wealthiest monarch with a $30 billion fortune, a number Thai officials dispute, Bhumibol won the hearts of his people by traveling the nation and meeting with hill tribesmen and the aristocracy alike.
