Manila, Philippines – President Rodrigo Duterte ordered the Philippines Health Insurance Corporation “PhilHealth” to suspend the premium payments for OFW’s that is 3% starting 2020 as circular 2020-0014 stated.
In a press briefing in Malacanang earlier Harry Roque spokesperson of the President told the media, the suspension of Section 10.2.C of the Universal HealthCare Law to make Premium Payments as said by Health Secretary Francisco Duque III.

If, for example, your monthly salary is PHP40, 000.00 abroad, you will pay PHP1,200.00 which is 3% of your salary for PhilHealth Premium payments and this is now voluntary.
Meanwhile, Thousands of our Overseas Filipino Workers decry upon the mandatory Premium Payments of PhilHealth and started an online petition at change.org, The petition already surpassed 400,000 signatures online that was started last week as of this writing Monday: 3:45pm Manila time”
Harry Roque added that the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration “POEA” and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration “OWWA” also suspends to make higher premium payments for OFW’s before leaving the country.
