Manila, Philippines – October 12, 2016, Game 3 of the Governor’s cup finals between Barangay Ginebra and Meralco Bolts.
With raucous crowd (14,285) at the Smart Araneta Coliseum watching game 3 of PBA Governors’ Cup Finals.
Bolts who lead early in the game with 7pts (8-15) in the first period. Allen Durham made his first 9points out of the 15pts on Meralco but Barangay Ginebra managed to erase and made (15-3) to end the first quarter with a 2 point lead (20-18).

Meralco Bolts still manage to regain the lead (31-30) with 6:04 to play in the second quarter after Uyluan converted a triple. Meralco capitalized a 4 point lead going into the break (48-44).
Meralco continues to make basket early in the third period (44-51) with 10:55 minutes to play, but the Barangay Ginebra went an 13-0 run to regain the lead (57-51). Chris Ellis, who now cleared to play after his injury, Tim Cone inserted him with 3:44 minutes to play in the third quarter. Bolts retained their lead to end the third period with 2points after the running shot of Tenorio in the dying seconds (71-69).
The final quarter is on fire of both teams, as they hit a basket after a basket, Hugnatan and Alapag who’s on fire on the 3 point line and converted 5 triples combined in the late period capitalized them to (105-98) with 42.2s left. Allen Durham, who missed 2 free throws, Brownlee hit a triple in the next position to cut the lead (103-105). Barangay Ginebra force to fall on next position lead Durham to convert 2 free throw to end (107-103).
Allen Durham tallied a double-double again with 36 points and 20boards and their Rookie Chris Newsome added 22 points. Jimmy Alapag also poured 18 points and the 3 made triples in final period of the Negros Slasher Star Reynel Hugnatan added 17points.
Justin Brownlee, who poured 42 points, but it’s not enough to lift the Barangay.
Chris Ellis and Jared Dillinger are now cleared to play in game 4. But Norman Black never inserted Dillinger maybe, in game 4 he will have a time.
Game 4 will be on Friday, October 14 at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
