NBA Superstar want to resume the 2019-2020 NBA season amid the threat of Corona Virus in United States. Chris Paul, arranged the call together with other superstars “Lebron James, Kawhi Leonard, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Kevin Durant, Anthony Davis, Stephen Curry, Damian Lillard and Russell Westbrook”.
The NBA season suspended 2 months ago after the Utah Jazz Bigman “Rudy Gobert” positively with corona virus. NBA commissioner “Adam Silver” along with NBA owners and team representatives discussed the possibility to resume NBA season.
Below are the Power Point presentation delivered by Adam Silver at the meeting.
- disease/case trajectory
- public perception of risk as states reopen
- lessons from other sports (watching Bundesliga and Korean baseball league and maybe even Major League Baseball)
- extent of impact on player salaries as the league deducts 25% from each paycheck beginning May 15
- testing type and availability
- disease risk/severity
The NBA Commissioner will announce the decision in the next 2-4 weeks.
I think if the NBA 2019-2020 season will resume in June it should be the top 8 teams both in Western and Eastern Conference. Even though most of the team already played 63 to 67 games or under 15 games to finish the whole 2019-2020 nba season . The NBA should shorten the league and start to playoffs when NBA returns.
The NBA playoffs would likely start last April 18, if there is no pandemic happen as it stated in their [website].
