Taiwan Minimum wage for 2020 will increase by 3%
Taipei, Taiwan – Taiwan’s minimum monthly wage has been increased by 3%, while the hourly minimum rate has been hiked by 5%, effective January 01, 2020.
The basic wage deliberation Committee of the Ministry of Labor (MOL) decided to raise the monthly minimum wage from NT$23, 100 to NT$23, 800. It also included in the deliberation that the hourly minimum wage from NT$150 to NT$158.
This has been the 4th consecutive minimum wage hike since President Tsai Ing-wen assumed office in the year 2016. It was only NT$20, 008 per month and NT$120 hourly rate before Tsai Ing-wen assumed office.
